We want to ensure that our online banking environment is as secure as possible. As the industry standards to protect online banking users continue to evolve, we are making changes to ensure that protections are in place to provide the safest possible online banking experience for you, our customers.

Starting on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, we will be enhancing the lockout requirements when a password is entered incorrectly.

Updated Process:

  • You will have an initial five attempts to input your password correctly.
  • After the fifth incorrect password attempt, your account will be locked for 30 minutes.
  • After this lockout period, you will have an additional five attempts to input your password correctly.
  • After the fifth incorrect password during this phase, your account will be locked and you will need to call your local Heartland Bank to unlock this account.

This update will reduce the opportunities cybercriminals might have of gaining access to your online banking account, while still giving you the convenience of multiple login attempts.

Our online banking login screen does include a "Forgot Password?" feature you can use to reset your password via email, located right below the "Submit" button.
