BBTWF_BlogGraphic-01For the second consecutive year, Heartland Bank has been named one of the Best Banks to Work For. Heartland Bank is ranked 30th out of 85 recipients and is the only Nebraska bank to be included in the list.

The Best Banks to Work For program, which was initiated in 2013 by American Banker and Best Companies Group, identifies, recognizes and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction. Full results of this year’s program are available at American Banker and in the September issue of American Banker Magazine.

“Our annual ranking recognizes the financial institutions that are committed to investing in employees’ job satisfaction, career development and personal growth – a ‘return on assets’ that can be hard to measure by traditional means,” said Rob Blackwell, editor in chief of American Banker. “One of the most valuable assets for any organization is the team of people it employs, and banks are no exception.”

John Wilkins, President and CEO, attributes the achievement to the Heartland Bank associates. “We have an outstanding team at Heartland Bank and we are honored to be named one of the Best Banks to Work For in the U.S. I can’t thank our associates enough for what they do daily for each other, our customers and our communities.”

Determining the Best Banks to Work For involves a two-step process. The first step involves an evaluation of participating companies’ workplace policies, practices, and demographics. Second, employee surveys are conducted to directly assess the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. The combined scores determine the top banks and the final ranking.

The program is open to commercial banks, thrifts, savings banks and other chartered retail financial institutions with at least 50 employees in the United States.
