Heartland Bank Celebrates the Promotion of Eight Associates
GENEVA, Neb. — At Heartland Bank, we take great pride in recognizing and rewarding our associates' hard work and dedication. We are pleased to announce the promotion of eight associates to new positions within the organization.
Meet Our Promoted Associates
Aaryn Schweitzer, Vice President/Bank Accountant
Bank Accountant Aaryn Schweitzer has been promoted to Vice President. Aaryn started her career with Heartland Bank in October 2017. She works between the Shickley and Geneva branches. Aaryn and her husband, Luke, have three children. With her kids keeping her busy the majority of her time at home, she still finds time to enjoy sewing and quilting. As a family, they enjoy getting outdoors and traveling whenever they have a chance.
Juli Kment, Assistant Vice President/Credit Analyst
Credit Analyst Juli Kment has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Juli started her career with Heartland Bank in Geneva in August 2017. She and her husband, Logan, have one son. Juli enjoys helping Logan and her dad with their farming operation, going to the river, reading, and spending time outside with her son.
Beth Sherman, Assistant Vice President/Trust Officer
Trust Officer Beth Sherman has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Beth works in Geneva and has been with the Trust Department since 2019. Beth's working relationship with Heartland Bank started in 2010 when she interned as a Customer Service Associate. Beth graduated with a degree in accounting and worked in tax compliance before joining our Trust Department. She recently completed Trust Schools I, II, and III and received her Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CFTA) designation in December 2022. Beth is married to husband Jason, who is a welder for Hughes Brothers in Seward.
Emilie Schardt, Officer/Credit Analyst
Credit Analyst Emilie Schardt has been promoted to Officer. Emilie graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agribusiness. She started her career with Heartland Bank in June 2022 and is located in the Aurora Branch. Emilie is getting married in June. In her free time, she enjoys going to the lake, watching Husker Volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.
Jordan Smedra, Universal Banker
Jordan Smedra has been promoted to Universal Banker. Jordan has been with Heartland Bank in Burwell since 2019. She and her husband have one son. They also have two fur babies, Tuff and Ava. Jordan enjoys going to the lake, fishing, hunting, working on puzzles, and spending time with her son in her free time.
Wendee Sobotka, Senior Customer Service Associate
Daykin associate Wendee Sobotka has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Associate. She and her husband, Scott, have three daughters and live on a farm near Tobias. When Scott and Wendee aren't busy following their girls in their many activities, they enjoy spending time at the lake.
Kent Kehler, Senior Customer Service Associate
Kent Kehler has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Associate. Kent works in the Riverdale Branch and has been with Heartland Bank since January 2021. Kent and his wife, Kayla, have been married for almost three years and have one son. Kent enjoys grilling, traveling to Colorado to see his in-laws, and helping his dad at the Kehler farm by Greeley. During the summer and the fall, he likes to fish, bow hunt deer, and hunt for doves and pheasants with his yellow lab Zeus. He is looking forward to when his son is old enough to go on outdoor excursions with him.
Michaela Dehart, Senior Customer Service Associate
Michaela Dehart has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Associate. Michaela joined the Grand Island Branch in February 2020. She is from Scotia, Nebraska, and graduated from Central Community College with an Associate's Degree in business technology and a certificate in crop production. Michaela enjoys being outdoors, fishing at the lake, and spending time with her siblings.

Melissa is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Heartland Bank. Melissa has worked in Human Resources for the past 20 years in different work environments. She received her bachelor’s degree from Hastings College and her master’s degree from UNK.
