Heartland Bank has supported community development, particularly in the realm of local education, through our Heartland Bank Foundation's scholarship program. Administered by the Heartland Trust Company, the Heartland Bank Foundation Scholarship serves students by providing financial assistance to empower them to reach their future goals.

This investment in local talent is a visionary approach, aiming for a future where these individuals return to their roots and contribute to the growth of their communities. 2023 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Faith Engle

Faith Engle

Faith Engle is currently a freshman at Concordia University. She is majoring in Agribusiness and is also playing basketball. After graduation, she plans on coming back to the Geneva area. Faith grew up on a farm just outside of Geneva and has been around cattle and horses for as long as she can remember. Agriculture is a big part of her life, and she is excited to pursue a career in the industry.


Kajetan Hubl

 

Kajetan Hubl

Kajetan Hubl attended Grand Island Central Catholic High School. She is currently studying psychology with an English minor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her plans are to become a psychologist, and she is still learning about the different fields of psychology she would like to focus on. 


Kassidy Rambat

Kassidy Rambat

Kassidy Rambat was very actively involved in her high school, where she was involved in basketball, volleyball, track and field, rodeo, and the National Honor Society. She is currently a freshman at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. Kassidy has earned acceptance into the Physical Therapy Assistant Program, which will begin in January. She is incredibly excited about this next journey. Her plans are to become a Physical Therapy Assistant in the summer of 2025.


Mariah Sliva

 

Mariah Sliva

Mariah Sliva is from Shickley, NE, and graduated from Shickley High School with the class of 2022. She is currently a student at Doane University pursuing a degree in mathematics and will be starting her second practicum experience in late January for secondary education. Mariah is a Doane's Volleyball, Hansen Leadership Program, and Relay for Life member.


Mason Simacek

Mason Simacek

Mason Simacek was born and raised in Geneva, Nebraska. He has always been around vehicles, helping work on them and making them faster. Mason is currently studying Automotive Technology at SCC in Milford, Nebraska. He plans on coming back to Geneva to work for a local business when he completes school.

 


Reyna Hafer

Reyna Hafer

Reyna Hafer is a freshman at Concordia University. She is currently exploring options of which major she would like to focus on.

 

 

 


 Sarah Springer

Sarah Springer

Sarah Springer is a freshman attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is studying fisheries and wildlife management with plans to become a conservation biologist. Sarah enjoys reading, running, baking, and crafting when she is not studying.
