KAHH_Projects.jpgHeartland Bank recently completed a branch-level campaign focused on supporting a local charity. This associate-led campaign allowed Heartland Bank to make a meaningful impact in the Kearney & Riverdale communities.

Last October, our Kearney & Riverdale associates selected the Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity as the recipient of the funds raised in this campaign. Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit organization that envisions a world where everyone has a home. Heartland Bank employees saw a natural connection with the efforts of the local Habitat organization and their own philanthropic goals.

The people of Habitat for Humanity work alongside people in need to build and improve the places they will call home. An integral part of the habitat mission is that the homeowners obtain an affordable mortgage.

Bank associates that donated to this campaign were rewarded with “Jeans Day” attire on Fridays during the campaign.

Together, the Kearney and Riverdale branches raised $570. The proceeds were presented to Jim McKenzie and Mel Wiens, board members of the Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity earlier this year.

"Giving to projects like Habitat for Humanity is a great example of Heartland Bank’s commitment to give back to the communities that we live in, and help someone obtain affordable housing," said Market President Jeff Kreycik.
