At Heartland Bank, your security is our top priority. Recently, we’ve been made aware of a scam targeting customers with phone calls claiming to be from the fraud department. These callers may sound convincing...but think again!
⚠️ What’s Happening
Several customers have reported receiving calls where the scammer says they need to “verify transactions.” During these calls, the fraudsters ask for personal information such as:
- Online banking usernames and passwords
- Social Security numbers
- Dates of birth, addresses, or phone numbers
In some cases, the scammer has even used the name of a real associate or mentioned the location.
These scams are designed to trick you into sharing sensitive information so that criminals can access your accounts.
